Lance The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, said to be the Last Great Race on Earth, spans from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska, over 1,100 miles in 11 days or less. Teams cover the harshest cold weather imaginable through treacherous mountain terrain and over frozen seas. For the last 75 years, sled dog racing enthusiasts from around the world have challenged their dogs’ outdoor skills as well as their own endurance, strength, and perseverance in what is arguably the most athletic K-9 competition ever.
