I also got a fleece sleeping bag liner and have not had to use it to keep warm. It is definitely a car camping sleeping bag, not one you would want to carry on a pack. It is very warm and comfortable. To get it in it's carrying bag you have to fold in half and roll sideways, a couple of compression straps help too. I have plans for a February camping trip in the Mountains, I am looking forward to comfortable nights in this bag.

I was disappointed that we didn't really get to try out the bag. But as fate would have it, I would find a use for it a month later when I caught the flu and was sick for three weeks. The sleeping bag was the only place I felt comfortable and warm. I stayed toasty in my cocoon! But that was only the first instance that I had occasion to use the bag in a crisis. Another month went by and my house's heating system broke down. For several complicated (and stupid) reasons, it could not be fixed for some time. We were experiencing record low-temperatures. Knowing the bag was my best hope, I broke it out again. The sleeping bag kept me warm no matter how cold it was outside. When I would venture out of the sleeping bag, I would return to find my cats curled up in it and on it, they knew it was the place to be. It was a great purchase, worth every penny, and believe me, it works. The flannel lining is so soft and comfortable, the canvas exterior is very durable and stain-resistant. The stitching is very good, no rips or ruptures, even with extended periods of use. I am so grateful that I didn't buy a dud, because I might have frozen to death or had to vacate my home for an extended period! There's plenty of room, but no sacrifice in terms of warmth. Great product, and great price!

1. This thing is HUGE. Like 3 1/2 feet tall in it's carrying bag.
You'll not be carting this into the woods for a hike with the sweetie unless you bring a hand cart or something. It's a monster.

2. It's comfy as all get-out. It says "0 degree rating" but it's not stiflingly hot (I'm 190 lbs, wife is 118) for two normal sized adults. I guess if you're 270 or something it'll probably get swelteringly toasty.
We slept comfortably in 60 deg weather with it and didn't sweat a bucket. We've also slept in 25 degree weather and kept plenty warm.
It's more cocoonlike than you'd expect, keeping a moderate temperature instead of cooking or freezing you.
If it weren't for the size of this thing we'd be 100% pleased. It just weighs too much to cart around to more adventurous areas.

It really is a double bag, not two singles zipped together like some others. The canvas cover is tough enough for any camping style. The only minor drawback is the carrying sack. It is made of the same tough canvas but it is just a little small for this heavy insulated bag, you can plan on quite a tussle to get the bag stuffed back into the carry sack. If the sack was just a little bigger it would be perfect.
