One-year warranty About Coleman
The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957–the birth of the modern cooler–and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

Coleman Trekking Pole Reviews

This pole was great for the 2 days that it worked. The compass in the handle is cool (but sometimes requires shaking) and the overall design is comfortable. The removable head was helpful when hiking through ice and the stabilizer worked well in mud.
I was loving every minute I had this thing until the metal gizmo that allows it to extend snapped inside. I would be willing to forgive this product, but once it fell apart and I looked inside, the design just looked flimsy. While this may have been a biased opinion (since I made it while trying to bushwhack up a mountain with a broken pole), it was certainly justified at the time.
My advice: Shell out the bucks for a better one.

For those people that requires just a low end trekking pole, that does the job of stablising and support.
Its dimensions are 25.5″ when collasped and 52.5″ when fully extended.
Its grip is made of rubber, and has this tiny compass embedded within (would require some patience in getting the correct direction, as it might get stuck when you make a sudden turn…), works well for a general sense of direction while trekking.
There’s shock absorption built in.
Overall, a good deal for those that wants to ‘try out’ trekking poles before upgrading (if ever) to the better ones.

Leki Wanderfreund Trekking Pole Reviews

I purchased a Wanderfreund anti shock and the anti shock broke twice. Leki replaced both quickly and courteously, the second time I requested the non anti shock lower section and it has performed well. I use the carbide tip in the winter or on trails in summer with the appropriate basket if needed. The carbide tip really adds to my confidence in icy conditions, something no ordinary cane can boast. I also use the bungy cord crossed over the back of my hand and hooked over the rear portion of the handle. This actually automatically advances the cane when lifted for my next step, increasing my speed. For me, looping my middle finger through the hole in the handle is by far the best mode of operation. I also have the Leki Micro and while I love the size, the handle just does not compare to the Wanderfreund.

I am very happy with this product. The cork grip is very comfortable and fits nicely in the hand, forwards or backwards. It collapses for easy traveling and very sturdy when readjusted. My only complaint is, once it’s collapsed, trying to set it back up – There are 3 sections to the walking stick and the height is adjusted by sequentially tightening each section by rotating the tube above the section you are adjusting. There’s a little device inside that tightens and expands as you rotate the tubing over it. The problem is, it is very touchy – you can’t just shorten one length by several inches and tighten it. You have to shorten it by 1-2″, tighten, then loosen just the right amount, advance another 1-2″, tighten, then loosen, etc. until you reach the length you want. If you over loosen, you have to start all over again. If you never pack it away and never change the length, this isn’t a problem. But if you want to transport it in your luggage or backpack and then have to lengthen it, it can take 10-15 minutes to readjust it.

Mountainsmith Rhyolite 6061 Trekking Poles, Blue Reviews

I got these because I have never used poles before, but as I age I find my grace leaves something to be desired. Anyway, I am not one who really abuses equipment any more than I have to. So far I have put about 20 miles on these from two seperate day hikes, one being fairly active with hills, creek crossings, and such. I am 155 pounds and usually carry about 20 extra pounds with clothes & gear. The poles have held up to with no signs of weakness. They bear weight without any give, and support just fine. I have no idea how long they will last, but I will say that they have convinced my to keep using poles in the future, so for entry level poles, they do what they are supposed to do.

The price was right but on the first week long backpacking trip in the Wind River Range my wife snapped off one of the poles. Leki poles would have survived the same stick-jab. Sorry… they are pretty but more for Day hikes than serious backpacking.

Stansport Outdoorsman Trekking Pole Reviews

I bought an expensive collapsable trekking pole to take on a trip to Machupicchu, only to discover that it wouldn’t fit into my carry-on suitcase. As it turns out, nearly every one of the expensive collapsable walking sticks – which are supposedly designed for carry-on luggage – are about 1 inch too large for that purpose. Go figure. Plus, many travel sites claim that TSA (the airport security folks) won’t let those sticks in the cabin.
So, I bought this item. It is nicely compact and very easily transported. No problem getting it through TSA. My only complaint is that the connections become a little loose and flimsy. It’s just not that sturdy. Then again, it’s a trade off between this packable trekking stick and more durable ones that would have to be checked at the airport.

This trekking pole is great for my husband who is elderly. It is light, collapses into a small size so is handy for local walking and long walks on trips. Packs well into a suitcase. Prevents him from falling when walking on uneven ground or where there are holes. Great product for people of all ages who walk or hike.
