hey im looking at going there for seven weeks on a foreign exchange program in summer (for america)or winter (for new zealand)and i was wondering how cold it would b on south island while i was there and is it worth it? thanks

@MsStreetfighter1 My wife and I wore the traditional kahu huruhuru (feathered) cloaks. It was anl honor to wear these cloaks out of respect for the values and traditions of Maori culture.
