Nederland is echt wel mooi. Nou ja, sommige dinge zijn echt verkloot we lijke nu echt wel amerikaans maar die komen alleen maar naar Nederland voor wat drugs…

Copenhagen isn’t a place for drugs, Christiania/Fristaden (a small area in Cph.) is the only place where hash/hemp (whatever it’s called) is sold in stands – and it’s VERY illegal, the only difference between that place and the streets are; that the drugbusts happen less frequently in Christiania, compared to all the corners on the streets in Copenhagen. There are areas in Amsterdam, that ressembles places like Nyhavn etc. (the houses) in Copenhagen, but the two cities are very unique/different.
My personal experience with Amsterdam: People there are either very polite and smiling, or the exact opposite, with little in-between (especially in cafés and the Tourist Information etc.) – It’s definately worth a visit, but don’t expect all the locals to be friendly, 1 out of 8 are complete assholes, and seem like they don’t want tourists at all (about the ones who make a living off of tourists), but ok, it’s like that in many metropoles.

And you have been in Amsterdam for, like, two hours? Those city’s are so not alike! And for the drugs: in Paris they smoke a lot more than in Amsterdam. In Ams it’s just for sale in the open

Amsterdam is nogal verklooid door jaren verkeerd beleid. Maar Nederland zit barstensvol tradities- je moet alleen even goed rondkijken. De schade die onze cultuur heeft opgelopen hebben we inderdaad onze Amerikaanse vrienden te danken (Futbolistik zei het ook al). Maar denk je dat die schade in Japan er niet is. De schade is daar zelfs nog veel groter.
Nederland heeft wel degelijk tradities,je moet alleen goed kijken.Helaas zijn we ,net als de rest van Europa,grondig ten prooi gevallen aan de Amerikanisering.
Wat heb ik een hekel aan Nederland, ik zou liever ergens anders wonen waar ze teminste wel tradities hebben, Bijvoorbeeld Japan. Ik snap niet hoe iemand Nederland mooi kan vinden. Gelukkig woon ik niet in Amsterdam, Geluk bij een ongeluk.
Agreed… but giving an entire area that is still filled with local traditions and is known throughout the world for it’s liberal vieuws and selling that to big investers will only make Amsterdam more expensive and that’s where I am affraid off- it will hurt tourism and therefore income- thus the economy of our country.
Amsterdam is much more than drugs and prostitutes!. By true freedom I ment that every thing is possible in Amsterdam. The moment you’re in the city something happens to you. You will feel it, you will regognize it. The big problem is that some people can’t handle this total freedom, they are not familiar with it. They abuse it.
Well.. you should know the Cohen is going to “clear out” de Wallen. I can agree to sorting out the drugs- and prostitutionrelated problems but he is effectively going to destroy years of tradition, a few that has been happening all over the country.
I sometimes feel like they are turning back the clock.
I am so in love with this city, never am I going to leave it. If you want to know what true freedom is, come to Amsterdam.
